No heat, no hot water, no answers

Heat went out in February and was out for nine days. Hot water was intermittent for a month. The super's number went to a full voicemail box. We filed 311 complaints and only then did a plumber appear. Renting in Brooklyn is rough but this was another level. Check the HPD violation history before you sign anything with this company.

Cash-only 'fees' that aren't in the lease
Landlord overall
Mid-lease we were told there was a new $75/month 'building upkeep fee,' payable in cash to the super. It is not in the lease. When I asked for it in writing it quietly disappeared for me but my neighbor paid it for six months. Everything else about the building is average — it's the surprise charges and total silence from management that earn this rating.
