Community guidelines
This site only works if reviews are honest, firsthand, and focused on the renting experience. Here's the deal.
1. Firsthand experience only
Review only landlords you have personally rented from (or applied to rent from, if you're reviewing the application process). No reviewing on behalf of a friend, no repeating neighborhood gossip, and no reviews from landlords about themselves or their competitors. If you didn't live it, don't post it.
2. What's fair game
- Fix-It or Forget-It: how fast (or slowly) repairs were handled — or whether they happened at all
- Deposit Banditry: what was deducted, whether it was itemized, how long the return took
- Livable or Landfill: heat, hot water, plumbing, mold, pests, appliances, safety
- Creep Factor: notice before entry, showings, inspections, cameras
- Rent Games: surprise fees, shady rent hikes, lease gotchas
- Rental property addresses — identifying which property you rented is the point of this site
3. Never post these
- Personal phone numbers or personal email addresses of a landlord or anyone else
- A landlord's home address — the address where they live is off limits. Rental property addresses are fine; where someone sleeps is not
- Information about a landlord's family, health, or anything unrelated to renting
- Threats, slurs, or calls for harassment — warn other tenants, don't target a person
- Anything you know is false. Deliberately fake reviews get removed
4. Reviews are opinions
Every review here is one tenant's opinion of their own experience. Ratings are not verified findings, and landlords are not contacted to confirm or rebut reviews before they post. Read several reviews, look for patterns, and use your own judgment. Nothing on this site is legal advice — for an actual dispute, contact a tenant attorney or your local legal aid office.
5. Reporting and removal
Every review has a Report button. Report reviews that break these rules: fake or secondhand reviews, personal contact information, home addresses, threats, or spam. A review that collects 20 or more reports is flagged for a manual review by our team. Reviews can also be removed at any time for violating these guidelines, and repeat abuse can get a landlord listing's review section locked.
Are you a landlord who believes a review contains something factually wrong? The fastest fix is the one your good tenants will write for you — renters trust landlords who fix problems far more than landlords who argue with reviews.
