Kept $900 of my deposit for 'paint'
2314 Mission St, San Francisco, CA
I left the unit spotless — hired a cleaner, filled two nail holes, took 80 photos. She still deducted $900 for repainting and 'carpet wear,' which is normal wear and tear and not deductible in California. I sent a demand letter citing the statute and got half back. The other half wasn't worth small claims court. Budget for losing your deposit if you rent from Voss Residential.

Constant showings while I still lived there
88 King St, San Francisco, CA
Once I gave notice, she scheduled showings three or four times a week, sometimes with two hours' notice, and twice agents let themselves in before the scheduled time. Legally she can show the unit, but there was zero attempt to work around my schedule or my dog. Felt like I was living in a model home I was paying full rent for.

Great location, glacial repairs
Landlord overall
Loved the neighborhood and the unit itself. But the dishwasher died in June and wasn't replaced until mid-August, and the 'repair' for a leaking window was a tube of caulk applied by someone who clearly had never used one. Emails get answered, eventually, with a lot of 'we're working on it.'
